Teach A Community Workshop

Teach A Workshop

Instructor Policies

Workshops sponsored by Menomonie Market Food Co-op (MMFC) in our classroom must agree with our Ends Statement and values: To Be Central to Thriving, Healthy Communities. We offer workshops year-round, and schedules are finalized two months prior to the start of each workshop. Our Outreach & Education Coordinator will contact you within three days following the submission of your proposal.

Our classroom is an educational space, not a forum to promote your business. Your workshop should not be contradictory to our Ends Statement or values.

What We Provide
• Classroom Space
• Enrollment & Collection of Fees
• Advertisement in our Newsletter, Social Media, In-Store, Volume One, & Emails
• Distribution of Workshop Evaluations
• Discount on Workshop Materials Purchased at our Stores

Available Equipment
• White Board & Markers
• Projector & Cables for PC & Mac
• Wireless Mouse, Keyboard, Pointer/Clicker
• Tables & Chairs
• Refrigerator, Sink, Two Cook Tops (Cookware Not Included)

Instructor Payment
We work with the instructor to determine workshop fees but encourage offering workshops at affordable rates. In the event of offering a workshop with a fee, we require 40% of the fees to cover classroom cleaning, setup, and maintenance, and the instructor receives the remaining balance via a mailed check within ten days of the workshop. We also offer 15% off the purchase of workshop materials if bought from one of our stores. A shopping list must be approved by the Outreach & Education Coordinator at least seven days before the workshop date, and a receipt must be turned in following the purchase. If the discount is used without approval of the list, the receipt total will be withheld from instructor payment following the workshop.

Food purchased at Menomonie Market Food Co-op is allowed in the classroom. The room should be left in the same condition it was found. It is a handicapped-accessible space with stairs and an elevator in the back of the store.

If there are fewer than five participants registered 24 hours prior to the workshop, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop.

Workshop Proposal Deadlines
• October 31st for workshops in January-May
• June 30th for workshops in September-December
