Earlier this year, we shared the exciting news that our friends at Earthbound Environmental Solutions in Eau Claire had announced that they were exploring the possibility of expanding their service area to include Menomonie. To gauge interest, their team hosted a meeting in January to give a presentation on their plans and answer questions from anyone interested. Our Outreach & Education Coordinator, Becca Schoenborn, was in attendance at the meeting, and our staff has kept in touch with theirs so we’d know if and when their expansion plans would be finalized. While we don’t have an official first date of service yet, we do know the expansion is happening, so it’s only a matter of time, friends!

If you aren’t already familiar with them, Earthbound Environmental Solutions is a waste management company located in Eau Claire that was founded in 2014 by owners Zacharious and Jamie Pappas. Their focus is on landfill diversion, in addition to standard garbage and recycling services, and supporting businesses like ours that regularly generate organic material in their waste stream.

We (and I’m sure many of our shoppers too) are grateful for Earthbound’s willingness to serve Menomonie, and in the coming months, our co-op will be finalizing the ways in which we can partner with them.
