A Look at The Next Five Years

In this article from the last issue of our newsletter, it was shared that the Menomonie Market Food Co-op (MMFC) Development Team created a vision for where they imagine the co-op being in the next five years. At our April meeting, the board of directors was presented with the vision. We anticipate that you will love hearing some more specific highlights from this inspiring vision as much as we did!

Vision: MMFC will embody its Ends in the Chippewa Valley and the values of resilience, innovation, and advocacy will drive success in these areas:

• Spreading Our Reach: MMFC will focus on expanding our reach throughout the Chippewa Valley through a variety of strategies, including operating additional locations.

• Supporting Local: MMFC will continue its strong support for local producers through incentive programs, Fund Our Foodshed grants, and marketing strategies.

• Serving Our Community: MMFC will care for our community by doing good beyond grocery through giving programs, education, outreach, and access to good food.

• Strengthening Our Team: MMFC will have a reputation for professionalism and be known as a place to build a rewarding career.

Kudos to our staff for developing this vision and setting over sixty goals that will help them bring it to life! Do these values resonate with you? What value do you feel is most important for our community? A shared attribute of our Menomonie Market Food Co-op board members is that they care about our co-op, access to healthy and local food for our whole community, and our economic model. It’s our job to represent you, and we want to hear what you think!

Currently, the opportunity to spread our reach has consumed much of the Board’s and Development Team’s time. Over the summer, we will need to hear from owners like you about whether Menomonie Market Food Co-op and Just Local Food Co-op should join forces and work together. Keep your eyes out for ways to connect and learn more.

Additionally, we would welcome the opportunity to network and collaborate with fellow community organizations. Find ways to connect with the Menomonie Market Food Co-op Board of Directors on our website at MMFC.COOP/BOARD.
