As a community-owned food co-op, our mission is to support the hard-working farmers, producers, and processors in our area year-round. We do so by sourcing products from local suppliers as often as possible, giving back to local suppliers through our donation and grant programs, and connecting shoppers with local suppliers through promotions and events.
We define brands as “local” when they are based in these Midwestern states:
• Wisconsin
• Minnesota
• Illinois
• Iowa
• Michigan
Although we do carry products from local brands as far as 600 miles away, our merchandising team’s main focus is on sourcing local products that are grown or produced right in our communities, which we consider to be within 100 miles of our locations and identify as “hyperlocal.”
How To Shop Local
To make it easy for you to choose local brands over national ones, we label products as local at-shelf in our stores and with filters online. Look for local signs next time you’re at one of our locations, or click “Yes” in the Local filter box online. And if you prefer to support local suppliers based closer to home, you can also use our Local By Distance filter online to view hyperlocal brands.
