TEACH A CLASS

Classroom available for one-hour, half-day, and full-day classes

Instructor Policies

Classes sponsored by Menomonie Market Food Co-op (MMFC) in our classroom must agree with our Ends Statement and Values: To be Central to a Thriving, Healthy Community. MMFC offers two class seasons: January-May and September-December. Class schedules are finalized two months prior to the start of each class season. Becca, Outreach & Education Coordinator, will contact you within 3 days following the submission of your proposal.

The MMFC classroom is an education space, not a forum to promote your business. Your class should not be contradictory to MMFC’s Ends Statement or values.

What We Provide
• Classroom Space

Instructor Payment
MMFC will work with the instructor to determine class fees but encourages offering classes for free. In the event of a class with a fee, MMFC keeps 40% of class fees to cover classroom cleaning, setup, and maintenance, and the instructor receives the remaining balance via a mailed check within 10 days of the class. MMFC offers 15% off the purchase of class materials in-store. A shopping list must be approved by the Outreach & Education Coordinator at least 7 days before the class date, and a receipt must be turned in following the purchase. If the discount is used without approval of the list, the receipt total will be withheld from instructor payment following the class.

Food purchased at MMFC is allowed in the classroom. The room should be left in the same condition it was found. It is a handicapped accessible space with stairs and an elevator in the back of the store within the meat department.

If there are fewer than 5 participants registered 24 hours prior to the class, MMFC reserves the right to cancel the class.
