GENERAL MANAGER, Crystal Halvorson x213

Crystal is the sole employee of the Board of Directors, and her job is to manage the daily operations of the MMFC business, and create strategic planning that puts our Ends into action.  She has been our GM for 13 years, and has seen our co-op through lots of change and growth.  She lives in rural Dunn County with her husband Bill, and sons Frank and Ullr.  When not at the co-op Crystal is still thinking about food in her kitchen and gardens, or around the campfire. email Crystal




Becca is responsible for the beautiful community classroom upstairs, donations, internal and external events, and community outreach/partnerships. With a background in health and wellness, she feels right at home in the co-op world, always ready to strike up a conversation about food. Outside of MMFC you can often find her adventuring outdoors, hanging out with her fat cats, or cooking something fresh and local! Email Becca




Beth is responsible for our marketing and communications. Her career in the food world has grown from chef, urban farmer, to brand marketer. A visionary, she carries a deep love for making plans and bringing them to life. Not one to walk a straight path, her fierce love of food, tending the soil, and building community have served as her guiding inspiration in everything she does. She lives with her husband, two boys, and unruly garden in Eau Claire. email Beth

Astrid helps the people of Menomonie Market.  A big part of her daily work is to support our wonderful staff, but she gets to help out our owners and our Board of Directors, too. She got her start in the world of housing cooperatives, living in three different co-ops and working for a housing co-op organization before joining MMFC. Email Astrid




Isabelle’s job is to provide organizational support to all departments, helping them meet our Ends of being central to a thriving, healthy community. When she’s not at the co-op, she enjoys taking naps with her cats, shopping with her mom, and watching movies. Email Isabelle






Jay is responsible for the excellent service all of our guests receive, as well as managing the customer services team who help provide that great service. Drawing on his background in business management and customer service, Jay makes the most of his time in the co-op by conversing, smiling, and helping guests and staff alike. In his spare time, you can find Jay camping and adventuring in the great outdoors, doing power sports, and spending time with friends, family, pets, and a grill/campfire. Email Jay

Mali is in charge of our building and grounds, and in true co-op fashion, a myriad of other catch-all responsibilities. She has worked at MMFC twice, as well as several other co-ops and health food stores from Alaska to Arizona; holding positions as produce coordinator, produce stocker, cheese cutter, operations coordinator, cashier, deli assistant, front end department head, and bulk department head. She has a BFA in Fine Art and a background in food service. She is dedicated to supporting local and sustainable businesses, and enjoys adventures in nature in her free time. Email Mali

Josh oversees purchasing and merchandising of our center store and fresh departments.  He’s a Menomonie native and UW-Stout grad.  Outside of work he enjoy spending time with his wife, two sons, and the family dog. Email Josh




Sara worked in the deli during her first 4 1/2 years at MMFC. At the beginning of October, 2017 she transitioned from her managerial role into the Center Store Coordinator position which means she does replacement buying for the Center Store Department. She loves interacting with the staff, customers, and vendors, and learning the stories behind the products that we sell. She recently became a yoga teacher and has had the opportunity to teach some of our shoppers in the beautiful MMFC classroom. When she’s not working, or doing yoga, she loves spending time with her husband, family, and animals in nature.   Email Sara

DELI MANAGER, Layne Qualy x218

Layne oversees the deli which includes the hot bar, grab & go cases, Made To Order Sandwiches, Bakery, and Cheese. She got her start with food at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point Dietetics program. Through this program she learned the inner workings of the food system, the benefits of supporting local, and the importance of being environmentally sound. In a practical sense, she has put these skills to the test at a few independently owned businesses including a cafe, wine bar, and some high-end restaurants. She gratefully ended up at MMFC and is looking forward to what this deli has to offer and driving it towards its full potential. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the Chippewa valley with friends and family, training her husky to do fun tricks, and cooking at home.  Email Layne

Atalie is the kitchen manager at MMFC, which means she oversees the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring its high production and safety. As a certified Nutritional Therapist, Atalie is eager to share her extensive knowledge of food and nutrition with the Coop community.  Email Atalie
