Veronika Zazovsky of Menomonie runs Beloved Sisters as a way to educate people about the benefits of using all natural body care products, and as a tribute to her sister, Natalia, who passed away in 2012 from a brain tumor.
Veronika and Natalia grew up in Russia with simple means. Their parents were teachers and couldn’t afford to purchase fresh produce so everything was grown in a garden. Later in life the ladies realized the value of creatively utilizing materials from nature for food, medicine, and making household and personal care products.
After moving to the U.S. as adults, the sisters felt embarrassed by their humble roots and wanted to buy body and facial products in stores like everyone else. When children entered their lives they returned to making natural products from family recipes.
In 2009 Veronika and Natalia started the business selling handmade lotions, lip balms, deodorants and other balms and creams. The products are made from beef tallow(Why Beef Tallow?) and beeswax without preservatives or artificial colors. Shea butter and soy wax are the base for vegan items.
Veronika and her husband, Serge, live on a private, 60-acre farm where they raise their own grass-fed beef, lamb and free-range chickens and teach their four children about farming. They desire to keep the company small In order to ensure high quality.
